Planned Methods To Reduce Risks

• Any containers used for the storage of lamps awaiting disposal will be clearly marked.
  

• If lamps are to be crushed on site, then a COSHH assessment will be carried out.
  

• Broken lamps will be treated as special waste, and will be kept separate from other building waste.
  

• All staff involved in handling, storage, maintenance and disposal of lamps will be fully trained.
  

• First aid equipment to be provided.
  

• All work involving the disposal of discharge lamps will be carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation and codes of practice.
