General information

Effects of dust

The continual effect of breathing dust can in time cause serious problems to the respiratory system.

These conditions include silicosis, asthma and lung cancer. The effects may not be apparent for some time and the conditions in most cases are irreversible.

Effects of noise

The exposure to loud noise for long periods of time can have a serious effect on the hearing system, causing hearing loss and tinnitus (ringing noises in the ears)

The time factor to the exposure of noise is important as the damage can build up gradually over the years with the person being unaware of the damage being caused.

The conditions when developed are in most cases irreversible.
