| Objects falling from ladders | Tools will be carried in an appropriate tool holder Materials taken up ladders must be made secure from falling |
| Ladders breaking | Ladders must be inspected each day before use for signs of damage Painted ladders must not be used Only company issued ladders must be used unless authorised by your supervisor |
| Ladders slipping | Ladders must be erected at a safe angle Ladders must not be used in strong winds Ladders will only be used on a firm and level base Long ladders must be secured either at the top or bottom |
| Risk of electrocution with aluminium ladders | No work will be undertaken on live conductors whilst on an aluminium ladder No aluminium ladders will be allowed in an area containing unshielded live conductors |
